What You Can Expect Working With Me
My coaching style is a whole life balanced approach. I look at the human body in its entirety. My job is to identify key areas where imbalance may lie causing discomfort, unhappiness or strain on the body. It could be anything from a food allergy to lack of sleep and it causes a ripple effect on your entire wellbeing. By using a whole-body approach, removing toxins and addictive substances and substituting them with whole nourishing foods and managing stress= we can greatly take care of underlying causes of weight gain, fatigue and even dis-ease.
Since there is no “one size fits all” approach to healthy living, we’ll take a deep look into what challenges you may be facing and together create a plan that includes action steps with attainable goals tailored to your routine and what works best with your body. As your Health and Wellness Coach, I am here to help you achieve your goals, to cheer you on, to provide guidance and support, empower you, motivate you and to give you that nudge when you need it; but most importantly to listen. I want you to feel heard and I want nothing more than to see you succeed.
My Background
I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and have earned my certificate as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Five years ago, I was obese, unhealthy and unhappy. I had lived a lifetime of bullying, dealt with the emotional and mental strain of being obese, and constant yo-yo dieting and was fed up. I was tired of living on the sidelines of life. I chose to take control of my life; to live it, to participate in it and not only enjoy it, but to live life to its full potential.
What I learned was I had to get tough and I had to get real with myself. Real with my food, which meant cutting out processed foods and harmful chemicals and eating whole, real foods instead. Real with moving my body; so I started walking five days a week and the most important; getting real with myself. Knowing where I started in my journey was ok, if I slipped up- it was ok, learning self-love, self-acceptance and enjoying the moments all my journey.
I lost 90 pounds and it’s that passion that guided me to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Yoga teacher, so I can help others with whatever troubles or guidance that they need in their lives, so they can be their happiest, healthiest selves.
Growing up I would make every excuse to get out of gym- now I love to work out! Those endorphins give me so much energy and make my body feel powerful, it does wonders for my sleep and is a fantastic stress reliever! I've recently obtained my RYT-200 (registered Yoga Teacher) and Accessible Yoga teacher certification. I am currently working on my Master's to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner.
