It is very easy to just become accustomed to things, relationships, and a way of life. Purposefully being grateful for all things - big and small- can change the perspective of life. Always chasing the next big thing, or taking for granted things and people in our life can set us up for an overall disappointed view of life. At the end of 5 days, you should have a list of 50 things you are grateful for - I guarantee it will start to change your perspective on life and the 'blahs' will be less frequent.
While trying to keep others happy, you could be sacrificing yourself. And while this can be ok occasionally, if we continually choose others' needs above our own, we can feel drained and not know why. Do you do things you do not want to do? Eat food you would rather not. Go places you would rather not. Watch things you would rather not. Learning to become your authentic self is learning to say no and choose things you actually enjoy.
Intimacy is the ability to connect with others on an emotional level. Intimacy can sometimes be referred to as sex, but true emotional intimacy is the key to creating close relationships with others. However, before you can connect with others, you must connect with yourself. How well are you aware of your own emotions? Your own wants and needs? Self-reflection and examination is important to continue to explore.
Do you know what you want? Seems like a simple question, BUT this can sometimes be what is holding you back from showing up as your true authentic self. Know what you like and what you do not like. Make a list of what you want. Make a list of what you like. Then read it out loud. This can be more challenging than what you think. As you come up with this list, you may have thoughts about 'no I can't put that', or 'others may not like that', or 'I cannot have that so why even put it down'. PUT IT DOWN. Dig deep on what you want. What do you want in the next year? The next five years. Just you. Don't worry about anyone else or what they think - WHAT DO YOU WANT? ( Very powerful exercise - simple - but powerful.)
